THE BYU-HAWAII CONCERT CHOIR is a versatile vocal ensemble of 50 carefully auditioned singers. This year's ensemble includes students from Hwaii, New Zealand, Australia, Japan, Fiji, Thailand, Philippines, Tonga, Samoa, Korea, Kiribati, Republic of China, Sweden, Canada, and the mainland United States, reflecting the international makeup of the BYU-Hwaii student body.

In recent years, the ensemble has achieved a high level of preformance in classical oratorio literature as well as international folk music, American musical theater, and art music of Europe, the Americas, and the South Pacific. An exciting addition to their repertoire includes music from Asian composers adopted in their 2000 and 2004 tours to Taiwan, Singapore, Japan, and Korea.

Seeking fine musicianship in visual and dramatic presentation, the group frequently surprises audiences with colorfully staged numbers and a variety of accompanying instruments.

Many students in the group are music majors who are emphasizing private voice, piano, theory, and music history. This has produced an ensemble that is a center of excellence on the BYU-Hawaii campus.

BYU-HAWAII is an undergraduate institution that each year educate 2,400 students from Asia, the Pacific Islands, The United States, and other parts of the world.  Representing some 70 countries, our students are fulfilling the vision of the university's founder, David O. Mckay, former president of the Church of Jeus Christ of Latterday Saints. In 1955, President Mckay declared : "from this school, I'll tell you, will go men and women whose influence will be felt for good towards the establishment of peace internationally."

BYU-Hawaii is one of the most multi-culturally diverse universities in the United States and serves as a model to the world of harmony amidst cultural diversity. The university focuses its efforts on educating the minds, hearts, and character of our students, sharpening their intellect, integrity, and desire to serve. In the serene setting of our Laie campus, students prepare to embrace the opportunities and challenges of an increasingly global society.

As an affiliate campus to Brigham Young University in Provo, Utah, and another BYU campus in Idaho, BYU-Hawaii accesses the resources of the largest private university system in the United States while offering the intimate atmosphere of its own small campus.  [www.byuh.edu]
