어느 날 밤 한
사람이 꿈을 꾸었습니다.
그는 바닷가를 주님과 함께 걷고 있는 꿈을 꾸었습니다.
하늘 저 편에 그의 생의 장면들이 비추어 졌습니다.
매 장면마다 그는 모래 위에 두 사람의 발자국들이
있는 것을
보았습니다.
하나는 그의 것이었고 하나는 주님의 것이었습니다.
그의 생의
마지막 부분이 비추어질 때 그는 모래 위의
발자국들을 돌아보았습니다.
그는 그의 생애에 여러 번 한 사람의 발자국만 있는
것을
보았습니다.
그는 또한
그 때가 그의 가장 슬프고 어려운 때였다는 것도
알았습니다.
그것은 그의 마음에 거슬렀고 그는 그것에 대해 주님께
질문을 하였습니다.
주님, 당신은
제가 당신을 따르겠다고 결정했을 때,
저와 항상 함께 걷겠다고 했습니다.
그런데 지금 저의 가장 어려웠던 시절에 한 사람의
발자국만 있는 것을 봅니다.
저는 당신을 가장 필요로 하는 그 때에
당신이 떠났었던
것을 이해 할 수 없습니다.
주님께서는
이렇게 대답하셨습니다.
"나의 사랑스런 아들이여, 나는 너를 사랑하기에
결코 너를
떠난 적이 없단다. 너의 시련과 고난의 시절에 발자국이
한사람의 것만 있는 것은
그 때 바로 너를 업고 걸었기 때문이란다."

FOOTPRINTS
One night a man had a dream.
He dreamed he was walking
along the beach with the LORD.
Across the sky flashed scenes from his
life.
For each scene, he noticed two sets of footprints
in the sand: one
belonging to him. and the
other to the LORD.
When the last scene of
his life flashed before
him. he looked back at the footprints in the
sand.
He noticed that many times along the path
of his life there was only one sets
of footprints.
He also noticed that it happened at the very lowest
and
saddest times in his life.
This really bothered him and he questioned the
LORD about it. "LORD, you said that once i decided
to follow you, you
would walk with me all the way.
But I have noticed that during the most
troublesom
times in my life. there is only one set of
footprints. I don't
understand why when I needed
you most you would leave me."
The LORD
replied. "My son, My precious child,
I love you and I would never leave you.
During
your times of trial and suffering. when you see
only one set of
footprints. it was then that
I carried
you."
